WAITING FOR DAWN
A few million years ago, there were creatures with no ego
In this land they had to fight, to find food or to survive
And then you came on two feet, a little primate and conceit
Just before you became a fool, with your brain as a single tool
With your first steps in the savannah, you were turning into man
And then you strove to plough land, you tamed the lion and the innocents
You invented guns and money, to get things night and day
You took possession of the planet, and now you’re surfing on the net
A few hundred years from now, you’ll reach the stars in one hour
This place will be just a subsidiary, an old address in your diary
And in a moment of Eternity, there’ll be room for Humanity
Among the fair, the time will come, we’ll stand in peace waiting for dawn.
